Community: I\'m Growing a Beard
Well, sort of…

I want to let all of you know that I’ve joined the competitive spirit of the Beard-A-Thon. I decided it was time for a female to step up to the plate and see what she could do. While I cannot physically grow a beard (thank goodness for that), I can paint one on my face and still compete with the boys when it comes to fundraising. Like the Beard-A-Thon claims, “who said it would be pretty?” I tried building a beard through the website options, but that was just a catalyst for nightmares. Trust me.

I will be sure to update my beard daily, if not hourly, in order to depict the way I’m feeling. I think I’ve got the advantage because I can change my style and color on a whim unlike my male competitors. If you all would like to track or pledge to my “beard”, you can visit my page here.

I apologize that it took me a while to jump on the beard growing bandwagon. It’s my first experience with the Playoffs and being surrounded by beards, so I’m learning. I guess it can be a little a scary at first. But, now I’m all in. I encourage you to pledge a beard or join the contest and raise money for the Kids ‘N Community Foundation.  We will have some Beard-A-Thon Registration tables/laptops set up across from our kiosk during Sunday’s game if you’ve yet to register. We’ll be set up on the first floor concourse at Section 128/129.

On another note, I want to thank all of you who were at the Carolina Ale House in Cary for the Cool Bars last night. It was our first showing of the Playoff Koozies, and we seemed to get a great response. Thank you for making donations in exchange for a Koozie. We will have them at the Wake Forest Location for tomorrow night’s Cool Bar Event. If you can’t make it tomorrow, we’ll have the Koozies at the Kids ‘N Community Foundation Kiosk (section 129) on Sunday.
