Guy Behind the Guy: Keeping the Faith

I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a game where the two teams combined for 86 shots on net and just one puck found its way into the back of the net. I feel like perhaps we witnessed a little history last night, with two of the league's elite netminders competing in a contest of "can-you-top-this." Certainly, the Hurricanes' efforts in the second and third periods gave you every reason to think that Sunday's game could be another RBC Center classic. It's truly been a special series, with the last four games all decided by just one goal, two of them in overtime and one on a buzzer-beater.

The die-hards who showed up at RDU Airport last night certainly felt they had every reason to keep the faith. As they did following Game 6 in Edmonton in 2006, Caniacs gathered at the airport to welcome the team back after a tough loss, and to remind the players that they will be ready to help them defend home ice in the game following. It was a nice late-night pick-us-up, and I thank those of you who were there again last in the wee hours of Friday morning. Also, thanks to RDU authorities, who were apparently quite helpful to the Caniacs, even putting up little "Caniac Parking" signs to help fans know where to go.

A number of you inquired about whether Chad LaRose's "Day in the Life" episode would be available online at any point, and that point is finally here. Special thanks to the NHL Network for granting us permission to post this, and to Eric Bridenstine for crunching it into four parts and making it available to the masses on CanesVision Online.
