Guy Behind the Guy: Not that They Needed It

Not that the Hurricanes needed any extra motivation for tomorrow's game, but former Steelers head coach and current Raleigh resident Bill Cowher was around the locker room Saturday morning. A friend of Canes Associate Head Coach Ron Francis, Cowher has become a fan of the team, even cranking the "Hurricane Warning" siren prior to Game 3 at the RBC Center.

It was interesting to watch him during practice, listening to Coach Maurice address the team. It seemed like just about everyone -- from the players to the staff -- enjoyed having the N.C. State product around the room. You can see why his players in Pittsburgh must have loved playing for him. Pretty impressive guy.

Obviously Mr. Cowher was leaving the motivating to the Canes coaches, but there's nothing wrong with getting a little extra mojo before a do-or-die.
