Hello all!  I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this beautiful Carolina summer.

The Hurricanes Summer Fun Fest will take place on Friday July 24, at the RBC Center beginning at 6:00 p.m. The event is RAIN OR SHINE! If it rains, most portions of event will be moved inside.  Also, admission and parking for the summer fun fest are FREE!

Features (begin at 6:00 p.m.): Due to the crowd last year we have increased our games and activities. 

• A big new addition this year will be snow. Yes, snow. We are teaming up with snowmyyard.com to bring out artificial snow. We will have a five foot and nine foot ramp. We will have sleds and leave your skis at home!!! Check out their web site for pictures.
• We have increased our number of inflatables to nine and will have street hockey and contests with 99.9 the Fan ESPN radio.
• Fans will be able to enter the RBC Center and see what seats are available for the 2009-2010 season.
• The Vision Band will be playing.
• The team store, The Eye, will stay open until 9:00 p.m. on the 24th and is currently offering 30% off all 2009 playoff product while supplies last. This includes shirts, pucks, and pins.
• We will mark off an area in the parking lot, where kids will be able to draw with chalk (who didn’t love to do that back in the day?!?!?).
• A few local mascots will join Stormy and be in attendance for autographs and pictures.
• Anna, Ashley C, Ashley H, Courtney, Jennifer and Mike from the Eye Care Associates Storm Squad and Ron the Ref will be in attendance.

State of the Hurricanes (starts at 8:00 p.m.): Hosted by John Forslund, the State of the Hurricanes is scheduled to features players and coaches. More specifics will be released soon!

Game Viewing: Currently Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals versus Boston has a slight lead over Game 7 vs. New Jersey Devils.  We will announce the winner on Monday as fans can vote through the weekend.

Giveaway items: We will be giving away street hockey stick and puck “sets,” and posters and game day cards from the past season.

Raffle items: We will be offering autograph items and experiences for the upcoming season. Autograph items will include a team signed jersey and autograph pictures and pucks. Fans will be able to enter to win at the event.
