CAROLINA NOTES
Carolina completed a trade with Vancouver on Friday, acquiring left wing Jan Hlavac and center Harold Druken from the Canucks in exchange for Marek Malik and Darren Langdon. Due to delays caused by the immigration procedure, Hlavac is not expected to play against the Flyers Tuesday. Druken may arrive in time for the game. The Hurricanes also recalled forward Jeff Heerema from Lowell of the American Hockey League on Monday. Hurricanes netminder Kevin Weekes is 4-0-2 in his last six games with a goals against average of 1.62 (10g, 370 min.) and a save percentage of .950 (10G, 200 SA).

CAROLINA / PHILADELPHIA NOTES
The Carolina Hurricanes and the Philadelphia Flyers meet tonight for the first of four games this season. The two teams will meet again in Raleigh just 10 days from now on Nov. 15. Both of Carolina’s games at Philadelphia this season are the second half of back-to-back games.
The Flyers won the regular season series against the Hurricanes last season 3-1-0. Carolina’s lone win came on March 28 in Raleigh, as Sean Hill notched a three-point night with a goal and two assists to lead the Hurricanes to a 4-1 victory. Jaroslav Svoboda notched his first NHL point in the game with an assist on Hill’s goal. Philadelphia won the two teams’ other meeting in Raleigh, 4-3 on Jan. 6. The Flyers won both games at home last season, defeating the Hurricanes 4-3 in overtime on Dec. 22 and 4-2 on Jan. 26 at the First Union Center. Hill led all scorers in the season series with six points (2g, 4a). Carolina is 22-45-10-2 all-time against the Flyers, including a 13-20-7-0 record at home and a 9-25-3-2 record in Philadelphia.
FLYERS NOTES
Philadelphia is currently on a five-game win streak, and has not lost since Oct. 22 at Buffalo. Netminder Robert Esche is second in the league with a goals against average of 1.67. Roman Cechmanek is tied for fifth in the league in wins with five through games of Nov. 3. Winger John LeClair is tied for seventh in the league with seven goals.
