Francis, O’Neill, Irbe and Brind’Amour to be Featured

ST.LOUIS (Nov. 18, 2002) -- Hardee’s Food Systems, Inc. has announced the exclusive sale of officially licensed Carolina Hurricanes bobbleheads over a five-week period at participating Raleigh/Durham area restaurants. The promotion begins Monday, Nov. 25 with the sale of the Ron Francis bobblehead including a free display stand.

Bobbleheads in the likeness of Hurricane players Ron Francis, Jeff O’Neill, Arturs Irbe and Rod Brind’Amour, as well as a Hurricanes team puck with facsimile autographs will be sold separately for $4.99 with the purchase of a Hardee’s combo meal. One collectible will be introduced each Monday for five consecutive weeks, beginning Nov. 25.

“Hurricanes fans and collectors are in for a treat with this set that features players from the 2002 Eastern Conference Champions,” said Larry Brayman, director of corporate affairs for CKE Restaurants. “Hardee’s roots are in North Carolina, so we’re excited about this opportunity to support one of our hometown teams.”

Originally introduced in the 1900s, sports bobbleheads have recently made a comeback in the sport collectible arena. Bobbleheads of sports figures have gathered attention among sports memorabilia hobbyists and drawn bids of $200 or more on Internet auction sites and in collectible shops.
