Canes Release Training Camp Groups
Paiement added to training camp roster; Group A features most returning Hurricanes
RALEIGH, NC—Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today released the team’s groups for its 2009 training camp. Most of Carolina’s veteran players will be skating with Group A, which hits the ice on Sunday at 10 a.m. The group listings and a full training camp roster are attached to this release. A complete training camp schedule is listed below.

One player has been added to the 2009 training camp roster, as defenseman Jonathan Paiement, who was previously signed to an affiliate contract for this season, will skate in Group B.
All training camp practices are open to the general public, except for Sept. 19 and Sept. 26, which are closed because of N.C. State football.
The Hurricanes play their first exhibition game of the 2009-10 season when they host the Nashville Predators on Friday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. On Sunday, Sept. 20, the team will host its annual Caniac Carnival at the RBC Center, the season kick-off event which includes rides, interactive games, live music and an autograph session with select Hurricanes players. The Caniac Carnival is free to all fans.
Training camp concludes with a team practice on Thursday, Oct. 1 at the RBC Center, and Carolina opens its 2009-10 season on Oct. 2, when the Hurricanes host the Philadelphia Flyers at the RBC Center at 7 p.m.
