RALEIGH, NC—Doug Warf, Director of Community Relations for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes and Executive Director for the Kids ‘N Community Foundation, today announced that tickets for the annual “Skate with the Canes” event will go on sale for season ticket holders on Monday, Nov. 23. Tickets for the general public will go on sale on Tuesday, Nov. 24. “Skate with the Canes” will take place on Monday, Jan. 4, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the RBC Center.

Tickets for the event are $75 each, with all proceeds benefiting the Carolina Hurricanes Kids ‘N Community Foundation. When purchasing tickets for “Skate with the Canes,” season ticket holders should present their Season Ticket Holder identification cards at the Time Warner Cable Box Office at the RBC Center, or purchase online at www.CarolinaHurricanes.com through Account Manager. Tickets not purchased by season ticket holders will be made available to the general public at the Time Warner Cable Box Office and via Ticketmaster. Each attendant, regardless of age, will need a ticket for the event.

“Skate with the Canes” is one of three main Kids ‘N Community Foundation fundraising events held each year. This year’s event will rotate attendees in small groups of 200 through three different stations; a skating session on the RBC Center ice, a tour of the locker room/photo session with various Canes and an autograph session. The Canes group will rotate opposite event attendees so that all fans get one station with each different player grouping. All attendees will also receive a unique poster and Skate with the Canes gift. Fans may bring their own skates for the ice session, or pick up a free rental pair at the event. Attendees must bring their own camera for the photo session.

The Carolina Hurricanes Kids ‘N Community Foundation provides much needed funding to children’s charities and education programs throughout North Carolina. The Foundation has funded scholarship programs, youth hockey, educational and literacy efforts, children’s health programs, the arts and other children’s related initiatives. Annually, the Foundation provides cash and in-kind contributions of more than $1 million to charitable and educational programs in North Carolina. Every member of the Hurricanes organization is actively involved in community activities and the Hurricanes take great pride in the ability to have a positive impact in our state.
