Hurricanes Reassign Bryan Rodney to Albany

RALEIGH, NC—Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned defenseman Bryan Rodney to the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League.

Rodney, 25, was recalled to the Hurricanes for the second time this season on Saturday, Nov. 28, and played in the team’s game that night at Buffalo. In six NHL games with Carolina this season, the London, Ont., native, has earned two assists and averaged 18:27 of ice time per game. Rodney (6’0”, 195 lbs.) has scored one goal and earned five assists (6 points) in 16 games this season with the River Rats. He is in his fifth professional season and his second with the Hurricanes organization after signing with the club as a free agent on May 12, 2008. Rodney made his NHL debut with Carolina in 2008-09, and earned two assists in eight games with the Hurricanes last season. He has scored nine goals and earned 51 assists (60 points) in 124 career AHL regular-season games with Hartford and Albany.
