Community: Holiday Charity Drives
|Index | Archive|
Most of us are starting our Christmas shopping, planning holiday parties and preparing our list to send to Santa. Through all of the joy and excitement of the holidays, we tend to forget about the people in our community that are suffering. There are families who cannot afford a Christmas dinner and children who will wake up to nothing under their tree on Christmas morning.
Let’s turn the focus from ourselves to those in need this Christmas! We have two great opportunities for you to give and receive. The Carolina Hurricanes will be hosting two Holiday Drives in December. Each drive will be an opportunity for you to give an item and receive a buy one, get one free ticket voucher. If you are a season ticket holder, please consider donating even if you choose not to take the ticket voucher.
During the holiday season, the Hurricanes conduct our annual toy drive in hopes of bringing holiday cheer to children across the state. Fans are asked to bring new, unwrapped toys to the RBC Center. This year, in exchange for their generosity, fans will receive a buy one, get one free ticket voucher for the December 16 game against the Dallas Stars. The Hurricanes wives and girlfriends will be on-hand to collect the toys on game day.
The Hurricanes will collect toys for Wake County Human Services, Helping Hand Mission and Toys for Tots. Come by the RBC Center between December 14 and game time on December 16 to donate your toy and receive your ticket voucher. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to each fan that donates a toy and brings a smile to a child’s face this Christmas.
Food Drive Night presented by Harris Teeter: December 21-23
Each season, the Carolina Hurricanes hold a food drive to collect canned foods and other non-perishable food items to benefit the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina provides food to people at risk of hunger in 34 counties in North Carolina.
Between December 21 and game time on December 23, fans can bring in canned food to receive a buy one, get one free ticket voucher for that evening’s game against the Montreal Canadiens. Both the Hurricanes and the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina would like to extend our deepest thanks for helping restock the food bank during this holiday season.
The Carolina Hurricanes are fortunate to have the greatest fans in the NHL. Please help us out this season as we work to bring joy to some of the less fortunate families in our community. Thank you in advance for your support of our Holiday Drives!
