There is still time left to sign up for our Hurricanes University Graduate Program.  By attending this world-renowned university, students meet a player, see the Canes locker room, skate on the RBC Center ice and (here is the clincher) hit the Carolina Hurricanes goal horn! (Ric Flair not included)

The Hurricanes U graduate course examines how the Hurricanes teams of past and present were built.  The classroom session, taught by Assistant General Manager Jason Karmanos, looks at all areas involved with building a team, including the salary cap, free agency, trades, scouting, drafts and many other components of the collective bargaining agreement. It is a rare opportunity to gain access to the assistant GM, hear it straight from the source and have an opportunity to ask questions as well.

Other aspects include an on-ice session led by color analyst Tripp Tracy and Youth and Amateur Hockey Coordinator Paul Strand, a visit by a Canes player, a tour of press row, time in the Canes locker room and either breaking down video footage in the Canes locker room or a behind the scenes look at the team’s fitness regime led by a member of the Canes training staff that includes a weight room tour, workout routines, injury prevention, etc. (based on staff availability).

When it is all said and done, attendees will graduate on-ice before the Canes/Bruins game on March 16. And yes, we get you all decked out in a hat, robe, tassel, etc.!

While I can go on and on, it is said best via testimonials from former graduates or by watching the recent video by CanesVision above (this video is from the Hurricanes U-101 class, but it gives you a feel for some of the access granted to those in the class).  Also, no worries if you have not been to 101, you are still welcome and encouraged to attend!
