Hurricanes Reassign Justin Peters to Albany

RALEIGH, NC—Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned goaltender Justin Peters to the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Peters, 23, made his NHL debut on Feb. 6 at Nassau Coliseum against the New York Islanders, and has posted a 6-3-0 record, a 2.83 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage in his first nine NHL games. The Blyth, Ont., native (6’1”, 213 lbs.) is 22-16-3 with a 2.60 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage in 41 AHL games with Albany this season. The Hurricanes drafted Peters in the second round, 38th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
