RALEIGH, NC – Kyle Prairie, Director of Ticket Sales for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced the team’s mini-season ticket plans for the 2010-11 season. Mini-season ticket plan-holders can opt for a 26-game plan, or choose between three different 12-game plans.

The 26-game plan covers more than half of the Hurricanes’ home schedule, and includes the team’s North American home opener against the Washington Capitals on Oct. 27. Of the 26 games in the plan, 20 fall between Thursday and Sunday, and the plan includes popular selections like the team’s games before and after the NHL’s two-day Christmas break, and the first New Year’s Day game in franchise history. Five games against Western Conference opponents are included in the 26-game package, including the April 6 meeting against Detroit. The plan also includes both of the Hurricanes’ home games against the 2010 Eastern Conference champion Philadelphia Flyers, as well as Eastern Conference rivals Montreal, New Jersey, Pittsburgh and Toronto. Fans who purchase the 26-game plan will also receive three complimentary game vouchers, which may be redeemed at the Time Warner Cable Box Office in the RBC Center for three additional games of their choice.

The 12-game Red Plan features exclusively games that fall on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Red Plan opponents include Colorado, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay and Washington. All three 12-game packages include two complimentary game vouchers.

The White Plan boasts 11 unique weeknight opponents, and is the only mini-plan that includes team’s two games against the Boston Bruins. Other notable opponents in the White Plan’s schedule include Calgary, Detroit, the New York Rangers and Washington.

The Black Plan offers a mixture of weeknight and weekend games, and is the only 12-game plan that includes the team’s North American home opener against Washington on Oct. 27. The Black Plan also features 12 unique opponents, assuring that fans see a wide variety of the NHL’s talent. Notable opponents in the Black Plan include Edmonton, Dallas, Anaheim, Pittsburgh and Buffalo.

Mini-season ticket plans provide fans with many of the same advantages of full-season ticket plans, including a discount off the gate ticket price, the chance to purchase game tickets before they go on sale to the general public and priority status for ticket packages for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Mini-plan holders also have access to the Ticket Exchange Program, which allows fans to exchange unused plan tickets on one of the team’s 12 pre-selected exchange game nights.

Those purchasing 12-game plans will have priority to purchase tickets to either the Jan. 29 or Jan. 30, All-Star Weekend events.

The Hurricanes will play the first game of their 2010 exhibition schedule when they host the Florida Panthers on Tuesday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. at the RBC Center. Carolina will open its 2010-11 regular season on Oct. 7, with the first of back-to-back games against the Minnesota Wild in Helsinki, Finland, as part of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere.
