Hurricanes Agree to Terms with Nick Dodge
Centerman led Albany with a plus-18 rating in 2009-10
Dodge, 24, completed his second season of professional hockey in 2009-10, playing in all 80 regular-season games with the Hurricanes’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Albany River Rats. The Oakville, Ont., native scored 16 goals, earned 20 assists (36 points) and led all Albany skaters with a plus-18 plus/minus rating. Dodge (5’10”, 185 lbs.) has notched 29 goals and earned 46 assists (75 points), in 160 career AHL games, all with Albany.
Prior to turning professional, Dodge played four years of collegiate hockey at Clarkson University. In 150 career games with the Golden Knights, he amassed 52 goals and 72 assists (124 points), and captained Clarkson to consecutive NCAA tournament berths in 2006-07 and 2007-08. Dodge was named the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference’s (ECAC) best defensive forward for 2007-08, following his senior season. The Hurricanes drafted Dodge in the sixth round, 183rd overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
