RALEIGH, NC – Jim Ballweg, Senior Director of Corporate Sponsorships for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the ‘Canes Corner radio program will kick off its fourth season on Tuesday Sept. 28, at 7 p.m., at its new location, Backyard Bistro. Hurricanes goaltender Cam Ward will join host Mike Maniscalco on the Hurricanes’ flagship station, 99.9 FM The Fan, for the first of 10 shows scheduled for the 2010-11 season.

“We could not be more pleased about the success of ‘Canes Corner through its first three seasons,” said Dave Shore, Director of Operations for 99.9 FM The Fan. “The show is a great complement to The Fan’s coverage of the Hurricanes, and has proven to be a fun way for fans to get to know members of the team.”

‘Canes Corner is a one-hour show that focuses on the current happenings of the team and the NHL, and gives fans an opportunity to connect with Hurricanes players, coaches and management. Maniscalco will speak to a different member of the Hurricanes family for each show at Backyard Bistro, located directly across Trinity Rd. from the RBC Center at 1235 Hurricane Alley Way in Raleigh. “Aside from being a great neighbor to the RBC Center, Backyard Bistro is an important partner for the Hurricanes,” said Ballweg. “Backyard Bistro provides a great location for the ‘Canes Corner show, which has become an integral part of the Caniacs’ fan experience.”
