Sergei Samsonov Activated from Injured Reserve
RALEIGH, NC - Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey Leagueís Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the Hurricanes have activated left wing Sergei Samsonov from injured reserve. Samsonov is eligible to play in tonightís game against the Senators at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa.

Samsonov, 31, suffered a neck injury when he was tripped into the boards during an exhibition game in Atlanta on Sept. 25. The Moscow native did not accompany the team on its trip to Russia and Finland, missing the Hurricanesí first two regular-season contests against the Minnesota Wild in Helsinki. Samsonov (5í8î, 188 lbs.) notched 14 goals and 15 assists (29 points) in 72 games for the Hurricanes in 2009-10.
