Our organization has a lot going on during the month of November. We have eight home games, family nights, college nights, giveaways, community appearances, a Kids ‘N Community Foundation puck fundraiser, Jussi Jokinen bobblehead night, and the Harris Teeter food drive.
Beginning on Nov. 9, fans who donate a minimum of two cans of food at the Time Warner Cable box office at the RBC Center will receive a buy one, get one free ticket voucher for the Nov. 17 game against the Ottawa Senators. The offer is good until puck drop on the 17th. Limit of eight tickets per customer. In addition, if you donate Harris Teeter branded products, you will be entered to win an autographed replica hockey stick.
The Carolina Hurricanes’ wives and girlfriends will be at each entrance of the RBC Center at the beginning of the Nov. 11 game to distribute BOGO vouchers in exchange for canned goods.
The canned food that is donated by loyal Hurricanes fans will be distributed evenly between Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. Inter-Faith Food Shuttle serves seven counties in North Carolina and helps about 165,471 people living in poverty. The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina serves 34 counties and around 480,000 individuals at risk of hunger in those counties. You can check out their websites below:
Please think about those that wake up each morning worrying about where they are going to find food to feed themselves and their families. Let’s work together as the Carolina Hurricanes family to serve those struggling with hunger this holiday season.
Keep in mind that the Carolina Hurricanes Toy Drive is right around the corner. Beginning on Nov. 29, fans who donate an unwrapped toy at the Time Warner Cable box office at the RBC Center will receive a buy one, get one free ticket voucher for the Dec. 3 game against the Colorado Avalanche. The offer is good until puck drop on the 17th. Limit of eight tickets per customer. The toys will be distributed to organizations that reach out to children in need in our community.
Please help make Christmas morning unforgettable for children living in poverty in Wake County.
Well, you now have two easy ways to give back this season. Let’s take the pride and passion we have for the greatest team in the NHL, and give back to those in our community that need help.
