Hurricanes to Host Annual Food and Toy Drives
Fans who donate receive buy-one-get-one-free ticket vouchers
RALEIGH, NC – Jon Chase, Director of Community Relations and Promotions for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team will hold its annual Canned Food Drive and Toy Drive during November and December. Fans donating at least two canned-food goods from Nov. 9-17, or one unwrapped toy from Nov. 29-Dec. 3, will receive a buy-one-get-one-free (BOGO) ticket voucher to a Carolina Hurricanes home game.
Donations for the Canned Food Drive can be turned in at the Time Warner Cable Box Office at the RBC Center from Nov. 9 until game time on Nov. 17. Fans donating food items will receive a BOGO voucher for tickets to the Hurricanes’ Nov. 17 home game against Ottawa. Hurricanes’ wives and girlfriends will be on hand Nov. 11, prior to the team’s game against Philadelphia, to collect donations and distribute BOGO ticket vouchers for the Nov. 17 game. Fans who donate Harris Teeter brand items will also be entered to win a team-signed hockey stick, courtesy of the Carolina Hurricanes. Proceeds from the Canned Food Drive benefit the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.
The Toy Drive will begin Nov. 29, and fans can donate unwrapped toys at the Time Warner Cable Box Office until game time on Dec. 3. Fans donating toys will receive a BOGO voucher for tickets to the Hurricanes’ Dec. 3 home game against Colorado. The Eye Care Associates Storm Squad will be collecting donations and distributing BOGO vouchers on Nov. 29, prior to the team’s home game against Dallas. Bins will be located at the VIP Entrance at all times from Nov. 29-Dec. 3.
