Hurricanes Reassign Brett Carson to Charlotte
Defenseman played in two games during recall
RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned defenseman Brett Carson to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Carson, 24, was recalled from Charlotte on Nov. 4, on an emergency basis for defenseman Joni Pitkanen, and made his 2010-11 NHL season debut on Nov. 5 at Florida. The Regina, Sask., native averaged 12:33 of ice time in two games played during his recall. Carson (6’4”, 210 lbs.) has played in 61 career NHL regular-season games with Carolina, scoring two goals and earning 10 assists (12 points). The Hurricanes drafted Carson in the fourth round, 109th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
