Canes to Host Military Appreciation Night Saturday
RALEIGH, NC – On Saturday, March 12, the Carolina Hurricanes will host Military Appreciation Night presented by ASC Construction Equipment Volvo Rents, as the team takes on the Columbus Blue Jackets at 7 p.m. This marks the eighth season that the Hurricanes have hosted Military Appreciation Night as an opportunity to thank servicemen and women for their contributions, as well as raise awareness about the branches of the military.
Starting at 4:45 p.m., there will be a special display of military equipment on the RBC Center’s south lawn, including a variety of vehicles and weapons from most branches of the military. Inside the RBC Center, the branches of the military will each have tables set up on the main concourse. The color guard will be presented by Fort Bragg, and the national anthem will be performed by Staff Sergeant Darcy Mehan of the U.S. Army Special Forces Command (Airborne). During the game, various active, reserve and retired members of the military will be recognized.
The Hurricanes donated several thousand tickets for the game to local military bases, and many suite clients have also donated their tickets for the game. All members of the military are invited to take advantage of a special military appreciation rate for tickets to the game. Armed forces personnel may purchase lower-level tickets for $25, and upper-level tickets for $15, at the Time Warner Cable Box Office at the RBC Center with valid military identifications. The offer is subject to availability, and excludes the upper goal zone, the Champions Club and the Ledge Lounge.
