Canes Assign Matt Mahalak to Plymouth
RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has assigned goaltender Matt Mahalak to his junior club, the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). The Hurricanes’ training camp roster now stands at 55 players. An updated training camp roster can be found here.

The Hurricanes will continue their 2011 training camp on Wednesday at the RBC Center. One group will have a practice session at 10 a.m., while the remaining players will take part in an intra-squad scrimmage at noon. As always, training camp practices and scrimmages are open to the public and the media.
