Canes Wives to Support Love for Lokomotiv
Players’ significant others to sell fundraising bracelets at Wednesday’s game
RALEIGH, NC – Doug Warf, Senior Director of Marketing for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes and Executive Director of the Kids N’ Community Foundation, today announced that the significant others of Hurricanes players will support the Love for Lokomotiv campaign during Wednesday’s game at the RBC Center against the Boston Bruins. Love for Lokomotiv is a fundraising campaign founded by NHL wives to support the families and children of the members of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) club who were killed in a plane crash on Sept. 7, including former Hurricanes forward Josef Vasicek, and former Carolina franchise defenseman Brad McCrimmon.
On Wednesday, the significant others of Hurricanes players will be on hand to sell silicon Love for Lokomotiv bracelets embossed with Vasicek’s No. 63. The bracelets will be on sale as soon as doors open (6:30 p.m.) at the Kids N’ Community Foundation’s silent auction kiosk on the RBC Center’s main concourse outside of section 129. There will be 500 bracelets available for purchase at $10 each. The Hurricanes’ significant others also will join the team on the ice during the national anthem to show their solidarity for the Lokomotiv families.
