Canes Reassign Jerome Samson to Charlotte
Forward played in three games during recall before suffering injury

Samson, 24, was recalled to Carolina for the first time this season on Jan. 10, and played in three games with the Hurricanes before suffering an upper-body injury that sidelined him for five games. The Greenfield Park, Que., native notched his first NHL goal on Jan. 10 against Philadelphia, and now has one goal and four assists (5 points) in 33 career NHL games with Carolina. Samson (6’0”, 195 lbs.) Charlotte with 15 goals this season, and ranks second among Checkers skaters with 27 points, while playing in 37 of the team’s 46 games. Samson has earned 252 points (121g, 131a) in 299 career AHL games with Albany and Charlotte, and was named to the 2012 AHL All-Star Classic but was unable to participate due to his NHL recall.
