Canes Reassign Bobby Sanguinetti to Charlotte
Sanguinetti
RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned defenseman Bobby Sanguinetti to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

This completes the second NHL recall of the season for the 24-year-old Sanguinetti, who played in the Hurricanes’ 4-3 win at Winnipeg on Sunday. The Trenton, NJ, native has skated in three games for Carolina this season, and has played eight career NHL games with the New York Rangers and the Hurricanes without registering a point. Sanguinetti (6’3”, 190 lbs.) leads all Charlotte defensemen, ranks second among Checkers skaters and is tied for seventh among all AHL blueliners this season with 37 points (8g, 29a), while playing in 50 of Charlotte’s 62 games. Originally drafted by the New York Rangers in the first round, 21st overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Sanguinetti was acquired by Carolina via trade with the Rangers on June 26, 2010.
