RALEIGH, NC – Doug Warf, Vice President of Marketing for the Carolina Hurricanes and Executive Director of the Kids ‘N Community Foundation, announced today that tickets for the annual Skate with the Canes fundraiser, as well as the annual Casino Night and Wine Tasting, will go on sale for season-ticket holders on Jan. 23 at 10 a.m. Tickets for the general public will go on sale Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. Skate with the Canes will take place on Friday, Feb. 15 from 6-9 p.m., and the Casino Night and Wine Tasting will be held Friday, March 22 from 7-11 p.m.

Tickets for Skate with the Canes are $75 each and include food, beverages, ice skate rentals and a premium gift, courtesy of the Carolina Hurricanes. Fans can purchase tickets at the PNC Arena Box Office, Ticketmaster, or by calling (919) 861-5474. Season-ticket holders have access to purchase their tickets online through the Caniac Account Manager the day before they go on sale to the general public. There will be 600 tickets available for the event, with 300 tickets reserved for the season-ticket holder pre-sale. All proceeds from the event benefit the Carolina Hurricanes Kids ‘N Community Foundation.

Skate with the Canes is one of four premiere Kids ‘N Community Foundation fundraising events held annually. This year’s event will rotate attendees in groups of 200 through three different stations: a skating session on the PNC Arena ice, tour of the newly renovated locker room / photo session with various Hurricanes players and an autograph session. The players will rotate stations opposite event attendees so that all fans get one station with each different player grouping. Stormy and the Eye Care Associates Storm Squad will also be on hand throughout the event. Fans may bring their own skates for the ice session, or pick up a complimentary rental pair. Attendees should bring their own cameras for the photo session.

Tickets for the 2013 Casino Night and Wine Tasting are $200 each ($115 is tax deductible), and will be available via Ticketmaster, at the Box Office, or by calling (919) 861-5494. All proceeds from the fundraiser benefit the Kids ‘N Community Foundation.

The 2013 Casino Night and Wine Tasting will include wine tasting stations from local wine vendors, and non-cash prize casino games such as poker, blackjack, roulette and craps. Hurricanes players will act as dealers at the tables during the event, and the team’s coaches and front-office executives will also take part in the evening. The fundraiser includes a full-service food buffet and open bar, and the night will also feature silent and live auctions. The silent auction will include nearly 100 items, highlighted by the popular “player baskets,” which are made by individual players and include their “favorite things.” The live auction will include as many as 10 items and will be headlined by the “Trip with the Team.” The 2012 Casino Night and Wine Tasting raised more than $244,000 for local children’s charities.

The Kids ‘N Community Foundation provides much-needed funding to children’s charities and educational initiatives throughout North Carolina. The Foundation has funded scholarship programs, youth hockey, educational and literacy efforts, children’s health programs, the arts and other youth-related initiatives. In the Fall 2012 grant cycle, the Kids ‘N Community Foundation awarded $200,000 to four different children’s charities and foundations. Annually, the Foundation provides cash and in-kind contributions of more than $1 million to charitable and educational programs in North Carolina.
