Hurricanes Assign Jeremy Welsh to Charlotte
Center made NHL debut for Carolina at Florida in 2011-12
Welsh, 24, is in his first full professional season. He appeared in one game for the Hurricanes, skating 5:46 of ice time during the team’s home opener against Tampa Bay. The Bayfield, Ont., native has 13 points (6g, 7a) in 39 games for Charlotte in 2012-13. Welsh made his NHL debut for the Hurricanes in the team’s final game of the 2011-12 season, and has now played two career NHL games with Carolina, totaling four penalty minutes. Prior to turning professional, Welsh completed a three-year collegiate career for Union College of ECAC Hockey with 100 points (53g, 47a) in 119 games.
