Canes Activate Justin Faulk from Injured Reserve
RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has activated defenseman Justin Faulk from injured reserve. Rutherford also announced that the team has reassigned defenseman Brett Bellemore (BREHT BEHL-mohr) to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Faulk, 21, returns to the Hurricanes’ lineup after missing the team’s last nine games with a second-degree sprain of the medial collateral ligament (MCL) suffered on March 19 against Florida. The South St. Paul, MN, native leads all Carolina skaters this season in average ice time per game (23:23) and ranks second among team defensemen in points (10) and plus/minus (+4). Faulk is in his second NHL season and has scored 11 goals and earned 21 assists (32 points) in 94 career NHL regular-season games with Carolina. The Hurricanes drafted Faulk in the second round, 37th overall, in the 2010 NHL Draft.
