Raleigh Orthopaedic 24-Hour Bike Challenge benefits Kids ‘N Community Foundation

Ward, Gleason to Participate in Bike Challenge
RALEIGH, NC – Hurricanes players Cam Ward, Tim Gleason, Jay Harrison, Kevin Westgarth and Nicolas Blanchard, and Assistant Coach Rod Brind’Amour will be among the 250 cyclists participating in the Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic’s 24-Hour Bike Challenge beginning Friday at 5 p.m. and concluding Saturday at 5 p.m. Riders bike in teams to complete 24 consecutive hours of stationary cycling at the event, which benefits the Carolina Hurricanes Kids ‘N Community Foundation. Donations can be made in a rider’s name using this online form.

Saturday

The Carolina Hurricanes Kids ‘N Community Foundation provides much needed funding to children’s charities and education programs throughout North Carolina. The Foundation has funded scholarship programs, youth hockey, educational and literacy efforts, children’s health programs, the arts and other children’s related initiatives. Annually, the Foundation provides cash and in-kind contributions of more than $1 million to charitable and educational programs in North Carolina. Every member of the Hurricanes organization is actively involved in community activities and the Hurricanes take great pride in the ability to have a positive impact in our state.
