Hurricanes Activate Alexander Semin

Forward eligible to play tonight at Calgary

RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has activated forward Alexander Semin from injured reserve.

Semin, 29, has missed Carolina’s last 12 games after sustaining a concussion on Nov. 16 at St. Louis. The Krasnoyarsk, Russia, native ranked tied for first among Hurricanes skaters in assists (6), tied for second in points (9) and tied for third in goals (3) prior to the injury. Semin (6’2”, 209 lbs.) is in his ninth NHL season and his second season with the Hurricanes. He has notched 213 goals and earned 248 assists (461 points) in 533 career NHL regular-season games with Washington and Carolina.
