Canes Assign Aaron Palushaj to Charlotte
The forward played in last night\u2019s game in Montreal.
RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has assigned forward Aaron Palushaj (pul-LOO-shigh) to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Palushaj, 24, played in the Hurricanes’ 3-0 loss in Montreal on Tuesday night, logging 9:34 of ice time. The Livonia, MI, native has played in all 41 of the Checkers’ games thus far this season, and leads the team in assists (24) and points (39). Palushaj (6’0”, 187 lbs.) made his Hurricanes debut on Jan. 5, in Carolina’s 2-1 win against Nashville at PNC Arena. He has played in 68 career NHL regular-season games with Montreal, Colorado and Carolina, scoring three goals and earning 11 assists (14 points). The St. Louis Blues drafted Palushaj in the second round, 44th overall, of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, and he signed with Carolina as a free agent on July 11, 2013.
