Canes Recall Michal Jordan from Charlotte
Defenseman joins Carolina on an emergency basis
RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team recalled defenseman Michal Jordan (MIH-kahl yohr-DAHN) from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL) on an emergency basis.
Jordan, 23, has totaled three goals and 12 assists (15 points) in 53 AHL games for Charlotte this season. The Zlin, Czech Republic native ranks third among Checkers defensemen in scoring and second in goals this season. Selected by the Hurricanes in the fourth round (105th overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Jordan (6’1”, 195 lbs.) made his NHL debut for Carolina last season and has appeared in five career games for the Hurricanes.
