Kids 'N Community Foundation
As “The Heart of the Carolina Hurricanes,” the Kids ‘N Community Foundation offers programming assistance and financial funds to assist local area youth organizations. Since the establishment of the Foundation in 1997, over $8.5 million in cash and in kind services has been awarded to organizations that focus on enhancing the lives of the youth in our community. With the ongoing support of Hurricanes players, staff, and corporate sponsors, the Kids ‘N Community Foundation funds many causes including scholarship programs, youth hockey, educational and literacy efforts, health programs, and the arts.
The Kids ‘N Community Foundation awards monetary grants to qualified organizations during two grant cycles each year. To see if you qualify, click here. In April 2010, the second of our bi-annual grant cycles concluded with the Kids ‘N Community Foundation donating $178,574 to 30 different organizations during the spring cycle. Combined with the $279,800 awarded to 22 organizations in the fall grant cycle, the Kids 'N Community Foundation donated $458,374 to 52 local children’s charities this season. This season’s total brings our two-year total to $964,594. Click here to see a list of our grant recipients.
In addition to the foundation, the Hurricanes contribute to the community in numerous other ways, bringing the team’s annual charitable giving to over $1 million in cash and in-kind services. The Carolina Hurricanes are extremely excited every year to give back to the community that has supported us in so many ways.
