The Promotions and Fan Development department strives to bring the benefits and excitement of hockey to all age levels. Through a wide range of promotions and fan development programs, the department not only connects with the biggest Caniacs but also reaches out to those who have never picked up a hockey stick before. With a strong presence at the RBC Center, the Hurricanes promotions and fan development activities also extend into schools, the business community and other events throughout the Triangle and North Carolina. From the ever-popular Stormy and the Eye Care Associates Storm Squad to our involvement with youth hockey and educating fans at Hurricanes U, there is a way for everyone to catch 'Canes fever. Canes Youth and Amateur Hockey (CYAH)In an effort to further strengthen our involvement in the the youth and amateur hockey community, the Hurricanes have formed Canes Youth and Amateur Hockey (CYAH). The mission of CYAH will be to provide sponsorship and presence to the local community in order to encourage the growth of youth hockey at all skill levels. StormyWhen thinking of throwing a party, think of Stormy! This furry ball of fun is available to make your next event one of the most memorable days of the year. Stormy is available to make appearances at birthday parties, charity events, corporate functions, parades, schools, libraries and even weddings. No matter what the event, Stormy will make sure everyone has a good time, Carolina Hurricanes style! The Storm SquadThe Storm Squad never stops. This summer they’ll be attending numerous events for schools, charities, golf tournaments, company picnics, and birthday parties. They are also available for temporary tatoos and what they do best—interacting with the crowd. Send an e-mail if you want a couple friendly faces from the Hurricanes at your party. Hurricanes UHey Caniacs! Enjoy the game but want to know more? Know what the players do at the games but curious about how they prepare beforehand? Enroll in Hurricanes U - Hockey 101, where knowledge and fantasy meet to give Hurricanes U undergrads the knowledge they search for about the game of hockey and the behind-the-scenes look they have always wondered about. In-Game PromotionsDuring each home game, the Carolina Hurricanes game-night staff and the Eye Care Associates Storm Squad select fans to participate in a number of on- and off-ice promotions. Visit the promotions and fan development kiosk outside section 109 to keep up with all the fun activities going on or to ask questions about our many other programs. Contests and SweepstakesThroughout the season the Carolina Hurricanes team up with their corporate sponsors to offer Caniacs exclusive prizes, exciting in-game experiences and other opportunities that create life long memories. Each tour stop features a live game broadcast of the evening's game, cool games and contests, a visit from Stormy, raffle prizes, a silent auction and much more. It's the perfect opportunity to get together with other Caniacs when the Canes are on the road. Hot Shot BoothThe Carolina Hurricanes Hot Shot Booth is available for your next event! The inflatable booth is perfect for corporate outings, company family days, community events, civic organizations, fairs, or any get-together where people like to have fun! Stormy, Ron the Ref, and the Hurricanes Promotions Team would love to visit! We hold an assembly program for students consisting of an introductory video about the team and its history, a reading of “Stormy’s Story,” an equipment race between students, a mini-game show with Stormy, and a two-way discussion between the students and Ron the Ref about a topic the class has been focusing on, such as respect.
