Community Relations FAQ

How do I get a donation from the Hurricanes?
Monetary Donations | In-Kind Donations | Game Tickets | Donation Request Form

Do the Hurricanes donate tickets to local non-profits?
The “Hurricanes Heroes” ticket program allows Carolina Hurricanes individual and corporate season ticket holders to donate upcoming unused game tickets to local non-profit organizations.  The organizations that receive tickets focus on health, education or underserved population development of children and adults in our community.

How can I arrange a player appearance?
Due to the large number of player requests and rigorous schedules of the players and coaches, each season we are only able to grant a small number of player appearance requests.

Can I have a player or coach read to my classroom?
Unfortunately, because of the large number of requests, we are not able to have players or coaches read to individual classrooms. The Hurricanes are proud to offer our "Other Faces of the Hurricanes" to read to individual classes in Wake County. For more information about this program please click here.

How can I connect the Carolina Hurricanes to my classroom?
Each season, the Hurricanes sponsor the Pick Up a Book and Read program, which motivates children in third through fifth grade to feel excited about reading. Participating classrooms receive a poster, stapler, bookmarks and reading scorecards, as well as a certificate of accomplishment for completing the program. The program also awards top readers with additional prizes.

Do the Hurricanes offer a fitness program for kids?
During the 2011-2012 season, the Carolina Hurricanes teamed up with Be Active North Carolina and the YMCA of the Triangle for our first year of Health ‘N’ Hockey. The program, designed to encourage exercise and healthy eating, included attending a Hurricanes practice, exercising with Stormy and listening to speakers. For more information, please email community relations at communityrelations@carolinahurricanes.com.

Do the Carolina Hurricanes sponsor groups, organizations or youth hockey teams?
Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate sponsorships. For more information about the Carolina Hurricanes and youth hockey please click here.

How can I meet a player and get an autograph?
While compliance is not guaranteed, the best way to meet a player and get an autograph is after a practice.
  • PNC Arena: After a practice at PNC Arena, the players will leave the complex through the North loading dock area. You may stand by the security station and request autographs from passing players.
  • Raleigh Center Ice: After a practice when the players leave the building.
A Hurricanes practice schedule can be found here.

Please note: Any item mailed to Carolina Hurricanes to get autographed will not be accepted and we are not responsible for the return of the item.
