The Red-White game will be fans initial opportunity this year to see many of your favorite Canes in action, new players for the first time and see guys battle it out to make the 2011-12 Carolina Hurricanes squad. The rosters of the teams will be available closer to the date. This event is general admission so all seats are open to the public and a ticket is not required. The game will be run just like an NHL contest with three 20 minute periods and during the intermission there will be activities and contests to entertain fans in attendance. A great opportunity for fans to see NHL action for the first time this year or see hockey for the first time for free!
Following the game 20 lucky fans will be able to come on the ice and have their picture taken with the team- fans will be able to enter to win at the Red-White game in the east priority lounge- winners will be announced during the 2nd intermission.
The Caniac Carnival will also include Crazy Caniac Challenge III, a two-lap race around the RBC Center (approximately two miles). This may sound easy, but once again there is that twist. After completing one lap, participants must eat two hotdogs and drink one 12-ounce soda before running the final lap. The grand prize winner will receive two 12-game plans for the 2011-12 season. There are also runner-up prizes and two other categories with gifts for the top finishers (14-and-under division and a female division). In addition, all participants that finish the race will be eligible to win two 12-game plans for the 2011-12 season in which there will be one winner picked via a random drawing. Click here to sign up or for more information. Price to participate in the race is only $15 and includes a t-shirt. All profits go the Kids ‘N Community Foundation.
