Executive Assistant to the President and General Manager/Director of Investor Relations
Mari Jeter is in her 10th year with the Hurricanes, and her eighth year in the role of executive assistant to the president and general manager. She also serves as the team’s primary liaison with its local ownership group.
Along with assisting the president and the general manager, Jeter prepares and maintains player contracts and immigration on both the NHL and AHL levels, and coordinates player call-ups and loans between the two leagues. Jeter also assists team operations personnel with development camp, rookie camp and training camp. Serving as the team’s scouting coordinator, she helps the Hurricanes’ amateur and professional scouting staff with their travel needs, and coordinates special events such as the NHL All-Star Game, NHL Entry Draft and scouting meetings.
In addition to all of her hockey operations responsibilities, Jeter was appointed to manage relations with the team’s local ownership group, Hurricanes Holdings, in 2011. She works closely with the investors to arrange meetings, coordinate team-related travel and assist them in fulfilling the benefits associated with ownership.
Prior to joining the hockey operations department, Mari served as the Hurricanes’ promotions and fan development coordinator, in the same department where she gained experience for two seasons as an intern and game night staff member.
Mari earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication/Public Relations from North Carolina State University, where she served as a staff writer for the Technician newspaper. She was raised in State College, Pa., and swam competitively for nine years.
Mari and her husband, Brandon, reside in Raleigh.
