| Mari Jeter Executive Assistant to the President and General Manager Mari Jeter is in her eighth year with the Hurricanes, and her sixth year in the role of executive assistant to the president and general manager. Along with assisting the general manager, Mari prepares and maintains player contracts and immigration on both the NHL and AHL levels, and coordinates player call-ups and loans between the two leagues. Mari also assists team operations personnel with conditioning camp, rookie camp and training camp. Serving as the team’s scouting coordinator, Mari helps the Hurricanes’ amateur and professional scouting staff with their travel needs, and coordinates special events such as the NHL All-Star Game, NHL Entry Draft and scouting meetings. In addition to all of her hockey operations responsibilities, in September 2011, Mari was appointed to manage relations with the team’s local ownership group, Hurricanes Holdings. She works closely with the investors to arrange meetings, coordinate team-related travel and assist them in fulfilling the benefits associated with ownership. Prior to joining the hockey operations department, Mari served as the Hurricanes’ promotions and fan development coordinator, in the same department where she gained experience for two seasons as an intern and game night staff member. Mari earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication/Public Relations from North Carolina State University, where she served as a staff writer for the Technician newspaper. She was raised in State College, Pa., and swam competitively for nine years. Mari is single and resides in Raleigh with her French bulldog, Mr. Murphy Magoo. |
