Bob Luccini is in his sixth season with the Carolina Hurricanes as an amateur scout. His primary focus is on college and high school hockey in the United States, as well as the U.S. junior leagues.
Originally from Franklin, Mass., Luccini coached high school hockey for 25 years and was ultimately elected to the Massachusetts High School Coaches Hall of Fame. During his coaching career at Franklin High School, he won 12 league championships and coached current Philadelphia Flyers Head Coach Peter Laviolette as a player from 1979-1982, guiding Franklin to the final game of the Massachusetts State Championship in 1982. The following year, Franklin again returned to the title game, capturing the state championship in 1983.
Following his coaching career, Luccini worked as a scouting and coaching assistant with Providence of the American Hockey League (AHL).
