The Carolina Hurricanes will host a Draft Party at Buffalo Brothers Lake Boone Trail location on Friday, June 26. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m., with draft coverage starting at 7:00 p.m. The Carolina Hurricanes hold the 5th overall pick in the first round.
The event will be hosted by Carolina Hurricanes TV play-by-play announcer John Forslund and Canes alumnus and Youth and Amateur Hockey Coordinator Shane Willis and will offer both a local and national perspective on this year's draft, which is viewed by experts as one of the deepest in years. The duo will have the draft covered from all angles: Forslund is viewed as one of the premier broadcasters at both a local and national level and Willis, drafted in 1995 and 1997, can offer draft insight from a player's perspective. Forslund and Willis will break down this year's prospects and the Canes' pick, in addition to answering questions before and during the draft.
In addition to the exclusive draft coverage and insight, fans in attendance will have the chance to win Hurricanes autographs, team memorabilia and Canes gear from The Eye team store. Stormy and the Eye Care Associates Storm Squad will be present for autographs and photo opportunities, and the slap shot booth will be available for all to enjoy. Back by popular demand: our annual Draft Challenge for the first 10 picks in which the fan who correctly guesses the most picks will win a personalized Carolina Hurricanes jersey.
Join us on Friday, June 26 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Buffalo Brothers on Lake Boone Trail!
