| Gene Reilly Pro Scout Gene Reilly, 50, is in his first season as a pro scout for the Carolina Hurricanes. Prior to joining the Hurricanes, Reilly spent the previous four seasons as a coach / Director of Player Development and Personnel with the Austrian league’s Red Bull Salzburg program, helping Red Bull capture the European Trophy in 2011 and the Austrian national championship in 2010 and 2011. After his collegiate playing career at Elmira College, Reilly spent two seasons playing professionally in Sweden before beginning his coaching career with the Springfield Olympics/Junior Whalers and Coyotes programs from 1988-98. He joined the University of Maine as an assistant coach in 1998, and helped the Black Bears capture the 1999 national championship during three seasons there. He spent two seasons as an assistant coach in the American Hockey League (AHL) with Grand Rapids and Binghamton from 2001-2003, prior to returning to college hockey as an assistant coach with Harvard (2003-04) and then Northeastern (2004-2008). |
