2012-13 Season Ticket Holder Frequently Asked Questions
With a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) in place, the Carolina Hurricanes are thrilled to welcome our loyal fans back to PNC Arena for an exciting stretch run of hockey. Due to the quick turnaround, we realize that you may have many questions. We’ve attempted to anticipate as many of them as possible in order to help you transition into the season; however, please feel free to call us at 1-866-NHL-CANEs (1-866-645-2263) during business hours if you have any additional questions we can answer.
- What benefits will I receive for having kept all of my money on account through the lockout?
First and foremost, thank you for your loyalty to the Canes by sticking with us through the recent CBA negotiations. In return, we are happy to offer you 119 days of 5% simple annual interest on the money which you have kept on account with us. The 119 days of interest is representative of September 16, 2012 (the day the lockout started) – January 12, 2013 (the day the NHL and NHLPA signed the new CBA). The amount of interest earned will be calculated and provided to STHs via email within the next week and can be used towards additional tickets for Hurricanes home games for the 2012-13 season, 2012-13 playoff tickets or any 2013-14 season ticket plan.
STHs who maintained their funds on account during the lockout will also receive a 10% discount off 2013-14 season ticket prices and will receive a 5% discount off 2014-15 season ticket prices.
NEW! Bonus Vouchers – STHs who held their account in good standing through the work stoppage will also receive two (2) Bonus Vouchers good for complimentary tickets to any of the team’s first six (6) games: 1/22 vs. TB, 1/24 vs. BUF, 1/28 vs. BOS, 2/1 vs. OTT, 2/14 vs. TOR and 2/21 vs. WPG.
Please note that these benefits are based on having maintained the full value of your account in good standing through the duration of the lockout. Any STH who received a partial refund and/or diminished their season ticket investment during the lockout will not be eligible to receive these benefits.
- Where can I find the revised 2012-13 Hurricanes schedule?
The updated schedule is available at www.CarolinaHurricanes.com/Schedule.
- With a shortened season, how many games will be featured in the Full Season Ticket, 26-Game Plan and 12-Game Plans?
The Full Season Ticket Plan will include all 24 of the team’s 2012-13 home games in the shortened season. The 26-Game Plan and 12-Game Plans have been revised to 18 and 10 games, respectively. 10-Game Plan Holders will be provided with the revised version of the Red, Black or White Plan they originally chose. More ticket plan details can be found via www.CarolinaHurricanes.com/Tickets.
- When will I receive my season tickets?
In the interest of beginning regular season play as quickly as possible following the signing of the NHL’s new collective bargaining agreement, time constraints have required that some ticket packages be broken into staged shipments. Listed below, you’ll find details regarding the contents included within initial shipments. Please note that given the abbreviated season and quick turnaround window, all season tickets will be printed in house on standard Hurricanes ticket stock in order to get them into the hands of STHs as quickly as possible. Initial shipments should go out via FedEx by Wednesday, January 16.

- If I paid in full for tickets prior to the lockout, will I get credited for the games not played?
Yes. If the money you have in your account exceeds the cost of your revised ticket plan, the extra balance will be credited to your account and can be used towards additional tickets for Hurricanes home games for the 2012-13 season, 2012-13 playoff tickets or can be applied to any 2013-14 season ticket plan. It is also possible to request a refund in writing, and a check will be sent to the address listed on your account within 2-3 weeks.
- If I was on the payment plan which was suspended during the lockout, when will payments resume and how much will they be?
Your remaining balance based on your revised total will be split into two equal payments to be charged on Jan. 30 and Feb. 28.
Reminder – Given that the payment plan has been suspended since September, your credit card information may have changed. Please let us know as soon as possible if you have a new credit card number or an updated expiration date. - What is Caniac Account Manager?
Caniac Account Manager is your one-stop shop for online season ticket account management. This program allows STHs to forward tickets via email, check ticket usage, donate tickets to charity, post tickets for resale, purchase additional game tickets and pay invoices. Using your account number and password, you may access Caniac Account Manager via www.CarolinaHurricanes.com/CaniacAccountManager.
If you need help with your account number or password, please feel free to call a Hurricanes ticket representative at 1-866-NHL-CANEs (1-866-645-2263) during business hours or email us at tickets@carolinahurricanes.com.
- Can I post my tickets for resale online through the Hurricanes?
Beginning Friday, January 18 at 10 a.m., STHs will be able to post their tickets for resale through their account online via www.CarolinaHurricanes.com/CaniacAccountManager. Due to Ticketmaster’s new partnership with Ticketsnow.com, the STH resale platform will feature a slightly different interface compared to prior seasons. First and foremost, all sellers will need to create a login in order to post tickets for resale. This will not be the same as their Hurricanes Account Manager login. *If seller has ever resold tickets via Ticketsnow and is attempting to create a login with the same email address, the system will inform them that an account already exists under their email address. The Hurricanes will be unable to supply the password associated with the previously created account.
When tickets a seller posts are sold, they will be able to dictate how their payment is received. They can choose direct deposit via ACH payment, that a check to be sent to their address on account, or that a credit be posted to their season ticket account. Those who choose to have the credit posted can apply that to additional Hurricanes tickets or may request at the end of the season that those funds be returned in the form of a check.
- How can I donate tickets to charity through the Kids 'N Community Foundation?
The Hurricanes Heroes ticket program gives Carolina Hurricanes individual and corporate STHs the opportunity to donate upcoming unused game tickets to local non-profit organizations. The organizations that receive tickets focus on the health, education or underserved population development of children and adults in our community. Due to the process of allocating tickets, the Foundation requests that donations be made approximately one week in advance of the game. Tickets can be dropped at PNC Arena’s VIP Entrance or with a ticket representative during regular business hours. Tickets donated in advance of a game may be considered tax-deductible, and the Hurricanes can provide tax receipts accordingly for such donations.
- What if I lose my ticket or do not have it on game day?
There are a couple of options available in order to retrieve your tickets. First off, it is possible to use Caniac Account Manager online which offers the convenience of email forwarding tickets. Simply email your tickets to yourself or a friend, and they can be conveniently printed from a personal computer. This can be done up to two (2) hours before game time.
If you are the STH of record and arrive at a game with the realization that you lost or forgot tickets from your ticket plan, you may go to the PNC Arena Box Office with a personal photo ID and our staff will be glad to reprint them.
