|2014-15 Season Ticket Holder Frequently Asked Questions
What do I do if I would like to upgrade or make changes to the size or location of my season ticket plan for next season?
Should you wish to make any changes in your ticket plan for the 2014-15 season, please contact our season ticket department at 1-866-NHL-CANEs (1-866-645-2263), and we will be happy to assist you.
How will the new NC sales tax affect my 2014-15 Season Ticket and 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs ticket prices?
The NC sales tax of 6.75% for all events in Wake County took effect on January 1, 2014. Pricing for the 2014 Playoffs and 2014-15 season ticket packages will have the sales tax included; therefore, you will continue to know your exact cost when choosing your seats without having to calculate sales tax.
When and how will playoff tickets be delivered?
Season Ticket Holders who sign up for this playoff payment option will be charged for the first two home playoff games the first business day following the Hurricanes clinching a 2014 playoff spot. Thereafter, once any home playoff games are guaranteed to be played, you will be charged for those games only.
Can I take advantage of the “Pay As We Play” playoff payment option if I choose not to renew my season tickets?
No - Season Ticket Holders who choose not to renew by March 31 by paying in full or placing a 30% deposit towards their 2014-15 season tickets may purchase their 2014 playoff strips by paying in full for Rounds 1 & 2 (Eastern Conference Quarterfinals & Eastern Conference Semifinals). Provided the Hurricanes successfully win Round 1, you will be sent an invoice for Rounds 3 & 4 (Eastern Conference Final & Stanley Cup Final). While these invoices must be paid in full, Season Ticket Holders who choose this route will receive the same per game discount rate as those electing to “Pay As We Play.” Please note that playoff invoices reflect the maximum number of games (8) that could potentially be played at home through the first two rounds of the playoffs - In the event that fewer than the maximum number of home playoff games are played, the appropriate credit will be posted to your account.
What is the Playoff Price Freeze?
Season Ticket Holders who renew by the March 31 deadline lock in the same low pricing for Rounds 1, 2 and 3 (Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, Eastern Conference Semifinals and Eastern Conference Final) of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Can I request additional playoff tickets?
Yes - Additional playoff tickets may be requested, but in strip form only. Thus, in requesting additional playoff strips, you are attempting to guarantee yourself additional seats for each of the home games played in the playoffs. Additional playoff strips can be requested via the renewal agreement featured in this electronic renewal brochure. Please review your online renewal agreement for additional playoff strip pricing.
Is there a limit to the number of additional playoff strips that I can request?
Season Ticket Holders may request up to an equal number of playoff seats (strips) as they have seats during the regular season.
*Please note that all additional playoff strips requests will be handled based on account priority (see below) and are not guaranteed at the time of your order.
If I order additional playoff strips or choose to upgrade or relocate my seats for the playoffs, what is my priority?
Playoff orders are processed in the following sequence:
What if I am only interested in getting additional tickets for individual games during the playoffs?
Individual playoff game tickets will only be available for purchase at full gate price through TicketMaster and at the PNC Arena box office. Due to the time format and the nature of the playoffs, the Carolina Hurricanes ticket sales office will not be able to process any individual game ticket requests.
Can I request additional playoff parking?
All accounts have been invoiced for parking according to their regular season purchase. Additional general passes will be available for purchase, however, no additional Premier, Premier Gold or VIP (luxury suites) parking will be available.
Can I forgo my playoff invoice now and request seats for Round 3 (Eastern Conference Finals) and Round 4 (Stanley Cup Finals) if we advance?
No - If you give up your seats for rounds 1 & 2, your account becomes inactive for the duration of the playoffs and you are unable to request seats at any point thereafter.
If I decline my playoff strips, will that affect my account priority in the future?
Provided you meet the renewal deadline, declining your playoff option will have no effect on your account priority or your seating for the following season.
What is the format for the playoffs?
The NHL playoffs are best 4 out of 7 series and each series is played in a 2,2,1,1,1 format. This means the higher seeded team has home ice advantage and hosts the first two games (1 and 2) as well as games 5 and 7 (if necessary). The lower seed hosts games 3 and 4, as well as game 6 (if necessary).
Can I purchase additional individual-game playoff tickets through the Hurricanes season ticket sales department?
No - You may, however, request additional playoff strips, guaranteeing yourself additional seats to each home playoff game played.
Can I purchase additional strips for the 3rd and 4th rounds only (Conference Finals and Stanley Cup Finals) if needed?
No - we can only guarantee the same number of seats, or fewer, for rounds 3 & 4 that you purchased for rounds 1 & 2. Thus, regardless of the number of season tickets you had during the 2013-2014 season, you are only guaranteed the same number of seats you purchased for the first two rounds.
