Join the Carolina Hurricanes for the 16th annual Caniac Carnival presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina at PNC Arena on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015. The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and offers free admission and parking and discounted food and beverage.
The Caniac Carnival, which will take over the outside and inside of PNC Arena, will feature activities for fans of all ages, including a free Hurricanes Red-White scrimmage, an autograph session with Canes players, 15 food trucks, inflatable rides, interactive games and booths, a kid’s zone, sports area, live music, appearances by Stormy and the MyEyeDr. Storm Squad and more! Admission and parking are free, and the event is open to the public. See below for a detailed activity schedule.
The Hurricanes Red-White game will be a full game with three 20-minute periods and 15-minute intermissions. The game is general admission; all seats are open to the public, and a ticket is not required. Click here for full team rosters. During the intermissions, there will be a Canes Insider Panel featuring Canes beat writer for CarolinaHurricanes.com Michael Smith, former Canes player Shane Willis, Mike Maniscalco from 99.9 the Fan and Derek Roessler from Section 328. The panel will discuss training camp, the Red-White game and various topics surrounding the 2015-16 season.
An autograph session will be held leading up to the game, with all members of the Hurricanes scheduled to appear. With the current training camp roster, this is projected to be over 50 players involved. This will be limited to the first 600 fans and is free to the public.
John Forslund, Canes TV play-by-play broadcaster, will host a State of the Hurricanes discussion with guest Bill Peters at 12:15 p.m.
New this year at the Carnival will be multiple performaces by the Gold Medal Show featuring world class performers from all over the world. Combining high air acrobatics (12-18 feet in the air) on bicycles, positive and motivational speaking along with a few jokes thrown in, this high-energy and exciting performance is for audience members of all ages. Daniel Dhers, a five-time Gold Medal winner at X-Games will be one of the featured riders. Shows will take place in front of PNC Arena in the West VIP Lot at 11:30 a.m. and 2:15 p.m.
Outside PNC Arena, fans can find 50 inflatables, interactive displays and corporate partner booths. In addition, this year's Caniac Carnival will feature more food trucks than ever, including:

The Canes will also partner with Rex Healthcare to host a Blood Drive to benefit Rex Blood Services. The Rex Bloodmobile will be at the Caniac Carnival from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Interested donors can sign up in advance here, and donors will be accepted the day of the event. In conjunction with Caniac Carnival, the team will host a season ticket open house from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. During this event, fans can speak with ticket representatives to find out more about 2015-16 Flex Plans as well as test drive seats and claim the best available locations for new 2015-16 Full-Season Tickets.
