Totaled 16 points (6g, 10a) in 26 career American Hockey League (AHL) games with Albany entering the 2008-09 season... Signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Hurricanes on 4/10/07, and made his professional hockey debut with Albany in the Calder Cup playoffs against Hershey in 2007... Completed his Ontario Hockey League (OHL) career having scored 103 goals and earned 150 assists (253 points) in 243 regular-season games, all with Kingston... Was a two-time member of the Ontario Under-17 team at the World Hockey Challenge... Participated in the 2006 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game... Scored 40 goals and earned 56 assists (96 points) while playing in 59 of 68 regular-season games for Kingston during his final season of Canadian major-junior hockey in 2006-07... Led the Frontenacs and ranked 10th among all OHL skaters in scoring, 15th in assists, tied for 16th in goals and tied for eighth in shorthanded goals.

2007-08: Began his first professional season with Albany, making his AHL regular-season debut in the season opener at Binghamton (10/6)... Recorded his first professional point with an assist vs. Norfolk (10/13)... Scored his first professional goal vs. Manchester (10/19)... Suffered an injury vs. Syracuse (10/24) and missed the following five games... Returned to the lineup vs. Binghamton (11/7) but was injured again at Hershey (11/18) and missed the following six games... Scored a pair of goals at Lowell (12/14)... Played his final game of the season vs. Philadelphia (1/5), missing the remainder of the season and the playoffs due to injury.
