Andreas and his fiancé, Jena, are expecting their first child in December… They spend their summers in St. Louis Park, MN, a suburb of Minneapolis, and have a miniature Doberman named Stella… Andreas is involved with the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation… He first started playing hockey when he was four, and his first team was the EAC Penguins in Austria… The biggest influences on his career were his mom and grandparents… His favorite player growing up was Joe Sakic and his biggest talent outside of hockey is skiing… His first job was working at hockey camps in Austria… Andreas lists Lost and The Office as his favorite television shows, The Dark Knight series as his favorite movies and Lil Wayne as his favorite artist… His favorite book is Lone Survivor… His game day routine includes a nap and several cups of coffee… His favorite vacation spot is Italy, favorite video game is Call of Duty, favorite food is schnitzel and favorite Triangle restaurant is Vivace… His favorite sports to watch outside of hockey are golf and football, and he is a fan of Tom Brady and the New England Patriots… The person Andreas would most like to meet is Tiger Woods… His most memorable hockey moment was being a part of Philadelphia’s comeback from a three-games-to-none deficit against Boston during the 2010 Stanley Cup playoffs… His favorite road city is Chicago, favorite road arena is TD Garden and favorite team to play against is Washington… Andreas lists St. Cloud State teammate Andrew Gordon as his favorite former teammate.

2011-12 SEASON

Is in his fifth NHL season and second with Carolina… Has represented Austria in a number of international competitions including the 2004 U20 World Junior Championship and the 2009 IIHF World Championship… Had 36 goals and 54 assists (90 points) in two seasons of college hockey for St. Cloud State (WCHA)… In 148 career AHL games, has totaled 34 goals and 64 assists (98 points)… 2004-05: Completed his first season with Sioux Falls of the USHL, totaling seven goals and nine assists (16 points) in 44 games.

2005-06: Ranked fifth in the USHL in scoring with 59 points (29g, 30a) in 58 games for Sioux Falls.

2006-07: Named to the WCHA All-Rookie Team and WCHA Rookie of the Year after notching 18 goals and 28 assists (46 points) in 40 games during his freshman season at St. Cloud State… 2007-08: Was selected for the WCHA Second All-Star Team after totaling 18 goals and 26 assists (44 points) in 40 games for the Huskies… Made his professional debut with the AHL’s Philadelphia Phantoms following his college season, scoring one goal in three regular-season games… Recorded one goal in 10 playoff games for the Phantoms.

2008-09: Completed his first full professional season, splitting the season between the Phantoms (AHL) and the Flyers (NHL)… Had four points (1g, 3a) in 38 NHL games with Philadelphia… Recorded 20 points (6g, 14a) in 39 games for the Phantoms… Made his NHL debut vs. SJ (10/22), and earned his first NHL point with an assist… Beat Alex Auld for his first NHL goal vs. OTT (12/23).

2009-10: Again split the season between the AHL and NHL, skating in 10 games with the Flyers in the NHL… Totaled 14 goals and 20 assists (34 points) in 65 AHL games for Adirondack… Scored the first goal in Adirondack Phantoms history at 9:09 of the second period of the season opener vs. Worcester (10/3)… Scored a penalty shot goal on Devan Dubnyk and added an assist vs. Springfield (10/9)… Served his longest regular-season NHL stint from 11/22-12/16… Skated in 10 games during the Flyers’ run to the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals… Made his NHL playoff debut in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals vs. Boston (5/1).

2010-11: Spent the entire season in the NHL, establishing career highs in games played (67), goals (11), assists (11), points (22) and plus/minus (+14)… Recipient of the Pelle Lindbergh Memorial Trophy as the Flyers’ most improved player, as voted on by his teammates… Had a career-high, five-game point streak from 10/30-11/13 (2g, 3a)… Was a season-high (+3) vs. NJ (12/4)… Skated in his 100th NHL game vs. NYI (2/24)… Played two Stanley Cup playoff games for the Flyers, missing the final five games of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal and all of the Eastern Conference Semifinal with an upper-body injury.
