Earned AHL career highs in games played (76), assists (18) and points (22) and tied his career high in goals (4)… Ranked second among Checkers defensemen with 22 points (4g, 18a) and eight power-play points (8a)… Was one of just two Checkers to play all 76 games… Earned his first point of the season, an assist, vs. Peoria (10/15)… Scored his first goal of the season vs. Norfolk (10/23)… Had his first multi-point game of the season with a goal and an assist at Rockford (11/6)… Assisted on Zach Boychuk’s goal at the 1:22 mark of the first period vs. Milwaukee (11/26) to extend his career-high assist and point streaks to four games (1g, 4a)… Scored eight of his 22 points (2g, 6a) in 12 games during November… Had a career-high 15 penalty minutes, including the only fight of his AHL career, at Rockford (12/30).

CAREER
Had 40 points (8g, 32a) and 78 penalty minutes in 143 career American Hockey League (AHL) games with Charlotte entering the 2012-13 season… Earned 102 points (31g, 71a) in 160 career Ontario Hockey League (OHL) games with Windsor and Plymouth before turning professional… Signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Hurricanes on 4/16/10… Prior to coming to North America, spent one season with Zlin in the Czech junior league, totaling 18 points (7g, 11a) in 40 regular-season games… Has represented the Czech Republic in international competition several times, including the 2007 and 2008 Under-18 World Junior Championships, the 2006 and 2007 Five Nations Cups and the 2008, 2009 and 2010 World Junior Championships… Served as captain for the Czechs at the 2010 World Junior Championship in Saskatchewan… Was named the tournament’s Best Defenseman after leading the Czech Republic to the gold medal at the 2008 Under-18 World Junior Championship… Completed his rookie season in the OHL in 2007-08, totaling 28 points (6g, 22a) in 61 games with Windsor and Plymouth and earning Plymouth’s Rookie of the Year award… Made his OHL debut with Windsor and earned his first OHL point with an assist vs. Erie (9/21/08)… Served as an alternate captain during his second OHL season with Plymouth in 2008-09, notching 12 goals and 30 assists (42 points) in 58 regular-season games… Was named Plymouth’s Defenseman of the Year for 2008-09, leading all Whalers blueliners and ranking tied for 13th among OHL defensemen in scoring… Completed his final season of junior hockey with Plymouth in 2009-10, earning 32 points (13g, 19a) in 41 games played and serving as an alternate captain for the second consecutive season… Completed his first professional season in 2010-11, earning 18 points (4g, 14a) in 67 regular-season games for Charlotte (AHL), and leading Checkers rookies and defensemen in plus/minus (+13)… Made his professional debut at Connecticut (10/9/10)… Earned his first professional point with an assist at Binghamton (10/29/10)… Had his first multi-point effort with two assists vs. Syracuse (12/6)… Netted his first AHL goal vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (1/4/10)… Made his AHL playoff debut in 2011, earning two assists in 16 Calder Cup Playoff games for the Checkers.
