2011-12 SEASON
Split the season between Charlotte and San Antonio of the AHL and Cincinnati of the ECHL… Totaled nine points (4g, 5a) in 52 AHL games and earned six points (3g, 3a) in 13 games on the ECHL level… Scored three AHL shootout goals on five attempts … Acquired by Carolina on 1/18 and assigned to Charlotte… Made his Checkers debut at Abbotsford (1/20)… Scored his first AHL goal of the season at Oklahoma City (2/3)… Scored the first two power-play goals of his AHL career, his first career multi-goal game, vs. Oklahoma City (2/24)… Had seven points (4g, 3a) in 10 games during the month of February.

Acquired by the Carolina Hurricanes from the Florida Panthers along with Evgenii Dadonov in exchange for Jon Matsumoto and Mattias Lindstrom on 1/18/12… Drafted in the fourth round (100th overall) by Florida in 2008… Had 29 points (12g, 17a) in 115 career AHL games with Rochester, San Antonio and Charlotte entering 2012-13… Helped the United States capture gold at the 2010 World Junior Championship in Canada, totaling three goals and two assists (5 points) during the tournament… Completed a four-year career with Plymouth of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) from 2006-2010, totaling 193 points (79g, 114a) in 249 games… Had 23 points (9g, 14a) in his rookie OHL season in 2006-07, and added one assist in 20 playoff and Memorial Cup games as Plymouth captured the 2007 OHL Championship before falling to Vancouver in the Memorial Cup final… Netted a career-high 26 goals and ranked third among Whalers skaters with 55 points in 2007-08… Was fourth on the team in scoring with 52 points (21g, 31a) in 2008-09… Established OHL career highs in assists (40) and points (63), ranking second among Whalers in scoring in 2009-10… Completed his first professional season in 2010-11, skating with Rochester (AHL) and ranking third among team rookies in scoring with 21 points (8g, 13a) in 63 games… Made his professional debut at Binghamton (11/10/10) … Scored his first professional goal at Manitoba (11/12)… Had his first AHL multi-point (1g, 1a) at Rochester (11/26).
