GAME: Carolina Hurricanes (21-29-13-4) at Columbus Blue Jackets (20-36-8-4).

TIME: Monday, 7 p.m. EST.

After going more than three years without beating the Carolina Hurricanes, the Columbus Blue Jackets seek their second victory in one week against them when the teams meet at Nationwide Arena.

Columbus defeated Carolina 3-0 on Tuesday for its first win in this series since Dec. 29, 2000. The Hurricanes won the previous four meetings.

The Blue Jackets fell 4-0 to the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday, losing their second straight following a three-game winning streak.

After taking the first 10 shots, the Blue Jackets were outplayed the rest of the way. They finished 0-for-6 on the power play after scoring at least one man-advantage goal in 11 of 12 home games.

"We should have had two goals early," Columbus interim coach Gerard Gallant said. "We didn't do anything after that."

Rick Nash, tied for the NHL lead with 36 goals, hit the side of the net with a redirect with a minute left. He had two goals in a 4-2 loss at Dallas on Wednesday to break the club's single-season record of 34, set last season by Geoff Sanderson.

Carolina lost 4-1 to the New Jersey Devils on Saturday.

The Hurricanes are 1-3-1 in their last five, totaling just seven goals in that span. They are last in the NHL with 127 goals this season.

Right wing Jeff O'Neill left in the third period Saturday with an upper body injury and didn't return. His status for Monday's game is uncertain.

The Hurricanes are 14 points behind the eighth-place New York Islanders for the final playoff spot in the East with 15 games to play.
